Guests will be treated to completely new exhibitions, a new shop and a restaurant with a new patio. Not to mention a new playroom and a new outdoor playground for the little ones. There is now also a “children’s trail” in the exhibition. In the outdoor area at the museum, you can peek into the waiting room of an old station building and play games from the past at a track tender’s cabin. And of course, check out all the cool locomotives, trains and carriages.

For those who can’t get enough of the vehicles at the museum, we highly recommend our vehicle storage facility, the Train Hall (Tåghallen). During the peak season, railbuses operate between the museum and the Train Hall. Travel on the railbus is included in the entrance fee.

The Railway Museum maintains a railway collection of internationally high standard, with over 300 vehicles from the mid-nineteenth century until today. The collection includes Prins August, the oldest operable steam locomotive in the world. The Railway Museum also organises historical train journeys around the country.
