Welcome to the Train Hall

A visit to the Trail Hall is included in the entrence fee to the Swedish Railway Museum and you do not want to miss it!

Railway vehicles have been part of this building’s history for over 100 years, as it originally served as the wagon workshop of Gävle Dala Järnväg. To this very day, the Train Hall is a lively workplace for vehicle and artefact preservation work. There is also a restoration workshop with paint shop and carpentry shop, a furniture storeroom, collections of artefacts, and a spare parts stockroom.

We hope you enjoy this living wagon workshop in a historical atmosphere!

The Train Hall is located on Karlsborgsgatan 1 which is in another part of Gävle than the museum. The easiest way here is to take the museums electric locomotives that offers daily round-trips between the museum and the Train Hall. The locomotives makes a stop in Gävle C each way. Taking the electric locomotives is included in the entrance fee.

The timetable for the electric locomotives will soon be up on the website. You can find the timetable at the museum or by contacting us.
